HTC Incredible Wallpaper Resolution

Wallpaper resolution or size on the HTC Incredible isn't like your old phone where the wallpaper image size matched the screen resolution...

The background HTC Incredible wallpaper consists of a single image file (jpg or png) with different portions (left, center, right) of the wallpaper image displayed depending on which section of the home screen you are currently viewing.

The entire size of the background wallpaper is 960x800 pixels.  Each wallpaper subsection measures 480x800 pixels in size and is displayed on the HTC Incredible in the following way:

To be (very) specific

On the default settings, the Droid Incredible has seven pages that one may scroll through on the home screen. However, the wallpaper goes past the outermost pages' edges. So, the picture provided is correct, but it is missing all of the additional pages. As stated above, each page is 480 x 800 pixels, with the whole being 960 x 800 pixels. In the provided picture, each colored bar represents a page. Each consecutive bar is placed 60 pixels from the beginning edge of the previous bar. Droid Incredible Wallpaper Pages

Not quite accurate...

The picture above does a good job illustrating how the wallpaper shifts over when you swipe between the screens, but it's not quite accurate. When swiped all the way to the left, you can still see some of the picture that you would when the screen is all the way to the right. So the two boxes should actually overlap a little.

Just Not Enough Detail

To be fair, I see where you are coming from. However, if you observe when you are shifting the pages, you can go "beyond" the usable space on the screen. This means that the phone does not display the entire image, but it does use it in its entirety.

To "fix" this, assuming you use the default home screen settings, we need to add the additional pages. There are seven usable pages with two additional pages on the outer extremes. Each page is set 60 pixels from the beginning of the previous page. So, you should set up the pages as such:

{0,480} [60,540] [120,600] [180,660] [240,720] [300,780] [360,840] [420,900] {480,960}.

The entire image should be 960 x 800 pixels. Each page will display at the 480x800 pixels.
