Android Gaining Mobile Web Share Since Release of Motorola Droid

Android has gained a huge amount of mobile web market share since the release of the original Motorola Droid phone on the Verizon network in November 2009.

Jumping from around 8% share to 25% share in 9 short months puts Android on a trajectory to take on Apple...  Following the current trend, it looks like they'll meet in about 6 months or around the football playoffs.  There could be a HUGE advertising blitz among Google and Apple in order to assert dominance.  I won't be surprised if the ensuing battle takes on a Darth Vader versus Luke Skywalker like spin...

The Android fans should feel right at home considering the coming release of the R2D2 Edition Motorola Droid 2!
