To be fair, I see where you are coming from. However, if you observe when you are shifting the pages, you can go "beyond" the usable space on the screen. This means that the phone does not display the entire image, but it does use it in its entirety.
To "fix" this, assuming you use the default home screen settings, we need to add the additional pages. There are seven usable pages with two additional pages on the outer extremes. Each page is set 60 pixels from the beginning of the previous page. So, you should set up the pages as such:
On the default settings, the Droid Incredible has seven pages that one may scroll through on the home screen. However, the wallpaper goes past the outermost pages' edges. So, the picture provided is correct, but it is missing all of the additional pages. As stated above, each page is 480 x 800 pixels, with the whole being 960 x 800 pixels. In the provided picture, each colored bar represents a page. Each consecutive bar is placed 60 pixels from the beginning edge of the previous bar.
this was so helpful. i got my android phone yesterday (the Express from Sprint) still too new for the sprint store to know how to transfer content.. 509 contacts are a little bit much to enter in one by one.. haha but yes ive been trying all night to figure out how to set it to vibrate for texts, this was the only website that actually helped. thank you so much!
one question tho, is there a way to personalize ringtones for texts when its not on vibrate? for example, if i wanted a bob marley song to play for a friend of mine when they text, is there a way to set that?
It's not us, it's the crappy Android UI that scatters preferences all over the device. Love or hate Steve Jobs, this is the kind of thing he worked hard to eliminate in his products. But Google uses Android as a tool to deliver eyeballs to advertisers, so "good enough" is good enough.
Since I got my replacement Droid 2 from Verizon (about 2 months ago) I couldn't get my phone to vibrate when I received a text. After following the steps above, it is now working.. I can't believe I went for 2 months before I found this site.
Just like the Android messaging app, the keyboard app is also ok, but BetterKeyboard lives up to its name by being miles better. With true multi-touch ability, proximity correction and a number of skins available; once you go Better you'll never go back.desktop power
After spending all night on the phone with my services tech support and they still couldn't figure out what was wrong. This worked.. I hope you guys get paid a lot for the things you do :)
thank you so much, i reset my phone and couldn't figure out why it wouldn't vibrate when i got a text, when i set it to vibrate and not beep or ring. this box wasn't checked....thanks again.
I think this preview facility of outlook 2007 is one of the best approaches to enjoy functionalities; thanks for sharing these steps; it would bring great functionalities.
I just had to go to a Verizon store due to multiple issues regarding my Droid2. The rep was very helpful. She did a factory reset and fixed a number of problems. However, vibrate no longer worked when receiving texts. Your instructions solved the problem!!! Thanks so much!
I couldn't find a way to do this in Windows 7 Paint. But with Irfanview the "Change Canvas Size" works perfectly. My phone has a 480x800 screen size. A 480x800 wallpaper won't display properly as is. What I needed to do is resize the picture to 800x800 by changing the canvas size. What I did was add a 160 pixel border to the left side and a 160 pixel border to the right side of the picture. Leave the top and bottom border at 0. The square box in Set as Wallpaper will now capture the whole picture.
The picture above does a good job illustrating how the wallpaper shifts over when you swipe between the screens, but it's not quite accurate. When swiped all the way to the left, you can still see some of the picture that you would when the screen is all the way to the right. So the two boxes should actually overlap a little.
Right click on a blank area of your title bar (the bar to the very top) and select CUSTOMIZE. You will now see your bookmarks toolbar appear along with the options to customize your title bar. Right click and grab the bookmarks toolbar and drag it to the title bar. You can have it either to the left or to the right of your tabs.
Kids can be 6 and play M rated games, like Grand Theft Auto and Call of Duty and Halo. Just so sad. Good thing they made ratings. Now I read ratings when I see a video game, even though I'm only 10.

The entire image should be 960 x 800 pixels. Each page will display at the 480x800 pixels.
